Plans were unveiled last week to transform HUNTINGDON BUS STATION into a new five storey block of residential flats, effectively reducing the ground space of the bus station whilst keeping what appears to be 5 bays (TBC) for buses to pull in to collect passengers. PRINCES STREET CAR PARK will close to public use and be rebuilt as part of the new 78 new homes planned for the area. We are told that ‘some’ of the dedicated disabled spaces will remain, however no public parking will be available. COWPER HOUSE will be acquired and converted into a ‘residents’ hub’ with a Gym, Mini-Cini and Work Space (our understanding is that these amenities will ONLY be available to residents of the new housing). An on-site café available for both residents and members of the public to use is also planned for Cowper House. Capital and Centric believe they are bringing vibrant, green spaces filled with lush planting and leafy trees to make this new neighbourhood feel like its ‘tucked away into nature’
